It was the day Wikipedia went dark and Google had a black banner across its logo.

The Wikipedia website was deliberately disabled on January 18 in protest of two laws under discussion in Washington – SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, and PIPA, the Protect Intellectual Property Act.

The controversy pits the entertainment industry against the internet industry and has internet users wondering how they would be affected should one of the bills pass.

TJSL’s Professor K.J. Greene, who teaches entertainment law and practiced entertainment law at a prominent New York firm, explains what the fuss is about in this interview.
