Professor K.J. Greene will be a special guest speaker at the San Diego Entertainment Industry Mixer (SDEIM) at the House of Blues at 1055 5th Ave. Downtown San Diego on September 12 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Professor Greene is a graduate of the Yale Law School and a full-time professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he teaches Contracts, Entertainment Law and Music Law.
He is a nationally recognized intellectual property scholar. His writing focuses on copyright, trademark and celebrity publicity rights in the music and film industry.
Professor Greene represented clients from Time-Warner HBO to the seminal rap group Public Enemy and director Spike Lee as a New York attorney before joining the faculty. He currently represents the legendary King of Funk, George Clinton in a landmark pending copyright appeal in the 9th Circuit.
In 2005, he was nominated by his peers in the San Diego legal community as one of the top ten IP lawyers in San Diego. An amateur comic, Professor Greene took first place honors in the comedy competition "Laf-Off" in 2009.
According to the SDEIM website, this event will allow attendees to converse with actors, producers and directors, writers, musicians, lawyers and more. Guests will gain access to the next level, attach talent to their projects, and become more educated in their respective fields.
