Lorena Slomanson '03 recently joined the San Diego County Public Law Library's Board of Trustees. She was appointed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to a 3-year term.
“I am honored and excited to support one of my favorite local institutions, and to build community coalitions that are of mutual benefit to SDPLL and to the citizens of San Diego County,” said Slomanson. “I am also excited to have an opportunity to continue a great tradition: maintaining and growing the wonderful relationship between TJSL and the SDPLL, who have collaborated on legal learning endeavors in the past.”
According to SDPLL, “Slomanson has an extensive history of public service and dedication to the community of San Diego. Currently, she is with the San Diego Legal Aid Society where she manages a legal clinic in the South Bay Superior Court complex. Additionally, she serves on the San Diego Human Relations Commission, the Alumni Association's Board of Directors of Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and has served on the Board of Directors of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association since 2005 including the position of President in 2009.
Ms. Slomanson was the recipient of Legal Aid Society of San Diego's 2008 Outstanding Service Award, the 2008 Wiley W. Award for Pro Bono Legal Services, and a participant of the Anti-Defamation League's 2009 Hispanic/Latino Leadership Mission to Israel.”
