“It’s euphoric,” said Rocky Goodell.

“I’m ecstatic”, said Hallie Tremaine.

“It’s surreal,” said Mary Cheney.

“This is the one defining moment,” said Chris Paulos.

All four Thomas Jefferson School of Law 2010 graduates were about to be sworn in to the California and Federal bars at a ceremony on Friday, December 3, with the rest of TJSL’s recent graduates who passed the California Bar Exam administered in July.

They were all honored at the law school’s New Attorney Breakfast at the Sheraton on Harbor Island.

“This is your day,” said Dean Rudy Hasl in congratulating them all, most of whom had family and friends at their side to cheer them on. “This is one of the happiest days at the law school.”

“You are about to become what you worked so hard for,” said Sabrina Green, president of TJSL’s Alumni Association. “And the alumni association’s sole mission is to assist you and help you get a competitive edge.”

The new lawyers were sworn in by panels of judges from both the California Fourth District Court of Appeal and the U.S. District Court of Southern California.

The judges urged the new lawyers to honor their family and friends, who, as chief federal judge Irma Gonzales noted, “must feel like they took the bar exam too.”

The assemblage filled the Grand Ballroom at the hotel, and at that moment, it was arguably the happiest room full of people in San Diego.

Congratulations to all of TJSL’s newest lawyers!
