For the third straight year, Thomas Jefferson School of Law made its presence known within the San Diego Community by volunteering at Father Joe’s Village, located near our new downtown campus. Over a dozen Thomas Jefferson students volunteered for Father Joe’s Village to help put on their ‘Special Meals’ dinner the day before and the day after Thanksgiving. Both days were a huge success, serving over a thousand meals.

First time volunteers appreciated the opportunity to give back, while return volunteers treated it as an annual tradition. Thomas Jefferson’s SBA has made giving back to the community a major priority this year, and plans to continue their efforts throughout the spring semester. The SBA appreciates all the volunteers who were able to help, and encourages others to become more active within the community.

TJSL students also volunteered at Father's Joe's Thanksgiving 5K Fundraiser!

Third Annual SBA Thanksgiving Dinner for our TJSL Family

By Jeremy M. Evans, 3L SBA President

Also for the third straight year, the SBA hosted the Thanksgiving Dinner for our TJSL Family who stayed in San Diego for the holiday. Twenty-five to thirty students, friends, Deans, and significant others came by to eat, converse, and enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday with each other. Other students volunteered to bring some delicious food items and help set-up and plan the dinner, while later in the evening some of the attendees passed out extra food in to-go boxes for the needy in San Diego. Students and friends enjoyed some great food and company, football in the theatre room, with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole completing the ambience.

Overall, a great service and joy filled holiday! We hope you will join us for SBA Community Events during the spring semester. Thank you to all who volunteered!
